What can you do against bullfighting?

It is often recommended that one should avoid visiting countries in which bullfighting takes place. But would you really want to stay always in your own country? And if not, where would you go? And, in any case, you would be boycotting, not only the countries, but those people in those countries who are fighting to put and end to this cruel "sport". Opinion polls show that most people - even in those countries - are against bullfighting. You cannot let them down! Bullfights are held in more than 60 French towns. The bulls are first tormented, then finally killed. You can go to these towns and join the other demonstrators, and express your views peacefully to the authorities and the public.	It is a fact that even in your own country, the bullfighting lobby works to cultivate a positive image and to influence the way this barbaric practice is reported on the television and in the newspapers. The usual strategy is to promote it as a part of national culture and tradition. And at the same time time, it is being further glamorized by trade and industry, which frequently use bullfight scenes in both advertising and product design. And then again, in certain "traditional" events, this Iberian practice creeps in. If you live in a town which is twinned with a French town where bullfighting takes place, we appeal to you to use your influence, by way of your twin town, to make the people aware of the barbarity which is being practised in their own home town.

By the use of search engines you can inform yourself thoroughly about bullfighting. You will be surprised by the audacity of these tormentors who represent bullfighting as a cultural heritage of manhood. However, several websites unmask bullfighting as cultural infamy and give you the opportunity to do something against it. Appeal to all artists
Many artists like to portray the torero, with his vain macho gesture, facing the attacking bull. These pictures are the very opposite of the brutal reality. You hardly ever see pictures of the suffering animals. We ask all artists to depict in their works of art the bloody reality of bullfighting and to expose this cruel spectacle as a shameful scandal. A good example is the flamenco dancer Alya Al-Kanani from Brunswick, Germany, who imitated impressively in her performance the agony of a bull during a bullfight, or the french painters Juliet Vles, *Thierry Hély* and the american *Larry Torro.*
